Pandemic Response: Lessons Learned from HIV/AIDS (PHR's COVID-19 speaker series)
On Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. EDT, Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) will host a conversation on Pandemic Response: Lessons Learned from HIV/AIDS.

Chris Beyrer, MD, MPH, the Desmond M. Tutu Professor of Public Health and Human Rights at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and senior scientific liaison to the COVID-19 Prevention Network, established by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will moderate the discussion. He is a PHR Advisory Council member.

Panelists will be:

Eric Goosby, MD, distinguished professor of medicine and director of the Center for Global Health Delivery, Diplomacy and Economics of the Institute for Global Health Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine

Diane Havlir, MD, professor of medicine and chief of the Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Health at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine

Salim Abdool Karim, MBChB, PhD, FRS, CAPRISA Professor for Global Health in the department of epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, director of the Centre for the AIDS Program of Research in South Africa, pro vice-chancellor (Research) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa and adjunct professor of medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University
